MEDUSA for Escape from Tarkov: install, launch and error fixes

This guide covers both EFT Rage and EFT Lite: installation, launch and troubleshooting are identical for them.

Before you start: follow every step in order. After making system-level changes, make sure to restart your PC.

Installation and preparation

01 Install DirectX

Download and install DirectX SDK (June 2009).

02 Install C++ Redistributable

Download and install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable packages.

03 Install .NET Framework

Download and install .NET Framework.

Download .NET Framework

04 Disable the driver blocklist

Download the required file.
Run win11_driver_OFF.reg.
Confirm the registry change by clicking Yes.

05 Disable Core Isolation

Press Win and open Windows Security.
Go to Device Security → Core isolation details.
Turn off Memory integrity.

06 Disable Windows Defender

Download the required file.
Run it as administrator.
Click Disable Windows Defender.

Check: open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection. You should see “No active antivirus provider”.

07 Restart your PC

Restart your computer so the changes can take effect.

08 Close prohibited programs

Before launching the product, close all programs listed in the ResellerCheats Terms of Use. Running them together with the product is prohibited.

09 Download Medusa Launcher

Open the Medusa download page.
Enter the license key you received after purchasing from ResellerCheats.
Download the available client.

Important: you do not need a separate Medusa account to receive your key — the key is issued after payment through ResellerCheats.

First launch

Key activation

After payment on ResellerCheats, you receive a product license key.
Launch Medusa Launcher.
Paste the key into the License key field.
Click Activate.

If the key is not accepted: go to the “Troubleshooting” section below.

Launch the product

On the page that opens, click Inject and wait for the loading process to finish.

If loading ends with an error: go to the “Troubleshooting” section.

Wait for startup

After loading, the main interface will close and a console window will appear.
If a spoofer is integrated into the product, you will see a prompt asking whether you want to use it.
The product itself will then launch.

If an error appears in the console: find the matching solution in the “Troubleshooting” section.

Launch the game

Launch the game as administrator.
If you use Steam, BSG Launcher, or another launcher, run the launcher itself as administrator first.
Wait until the main menu appears.
Press F2.

If the product still does not launch after all steps: go to the “Troubleshooting” section.

Troubleshooting

Find the exact error message you see and follow the corresponding solution.

Key, subscription, and HWID

Subscribe expired

Your subscription has expired. Check your key information on the Medusa Key Info page.

If the access period has ended, purchase a new period from the MEDUSA RAGE page on ResellerCheats.

Subscribe banned

Your subscription has been banned. Contact technical support to find out the reason.

HWID mismatch

The key is bound to a different computer. One key can only be used on one PC.

HWID reset requested, expect a decision

A HWID reset request has already been submitted and is pending. Wait for a decision.

Server and connection

Server internal error

Internal server error. Contact technical support.

Failure connect

Failed to connect to the server. There may be maintenance or an issue with your internet connection.

Try again later or use a VPN/proxy.

Unrecognized response

Unknown server response. Try again later or contact technical support.

DirectX, Windows, and driver

free_driver_info_ex

Repeat the “Disable Windows Defender” step above, then restart your PC.

d3dx9_43.dll error

DirectX SDK June 2010 is not installed. Go back to the DirectX installation step and complete it.

Cannot map physical address 0x1000

Disable Windows Defender and Core Isolation as described above.

Also remove Faceit, Vanguard, ACE, and other third-party anti-cheats.

Driver status: C0E90002

This error requires an additional file. Get the current file from ResellerCheats technical support.

Run it as administrator, wait for the black command window to close automatically, then restart your PC.If the issue remains: make sure the file was launched as administrator and restart your PC once more.

Driver status: ?

This error occurs if the driver is already running or your Windows version does not meet the requirements.

How to check your Windows version: press Win → type cmd → open Command Prompt → type winver → press Enter.

Driver already loaded

Restart your PC and try again. If the error appears every time you launch the product, contact technical support.

Other errors

Critical error occurred

Sometimes this message appears without affecting the product. In that case, you can ignore it or click Ignore.

If the error affects the product, contact technical support.

Any other error

If your error is not listed above, contact technical support.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on my PC?

Yes, if your computer meets the system requirements.

Supported systems: Windows 10 and Windows 11 versions 21H2–23H2.

How do I install and launch it?

After payment on ResellerCheats, you receive a license key.

The product has a built-in automatic update module, so a separate update is often not required.

If an update is needed, it is usually released within 1–2 hours.

Does it work in PVE?

The product works in PVE mode on local servers and on official BSG servers.

Important: PVE-specific functionality is available only on local servers.

Is it safe?

If the product status is shown as Undetected, use the current up-to-date version of the product.

Can I get banned?

Yes, a ban is possible. The risk also depends on how you play and how suspicious your actions look to other players.
